Tábor-current modern town

Tábor is the second largest town in South Bohemia with more than 36 000 inhabitants and it is an important traffic, economic and cultural centre in the region.. Today is Tábor modern town, which is developing dynamically. Examples are the newly renovated 9.květen street, restoration of the historical centre, urban parks, playgrounds and sports facilities, substantial investments have been devoted to the development of transportation, shopping centres, significant is business development. Tábor town is also known for diverse cultural offerings. People can choose from the theatre, cinemas, galleries and mainly of particular events from the town hall. In summer, there are popular open-air events mostly focused on history. The most visitors annually attracts Tabor meeting – a three-day urban festival, the Hussite tradition based on Tabor since 1992. A lots of visitors has a new summer festival Léto nad Jordánem. Tábor is especially recently the town of sport. There are sport events at the national and international level – for example Championship in Athletics, Championship in a balloon flying, Championship triathlon Championship in swimming. Cyclocross is presented annually by organizing World Cup, which is very popular in Tabor. Suitable facilities for the public offering winter sports stadium, swimming pool and athletic stadium with a tartan surface. There are football pitches, sports hall, Sokol and other place for sports.Tábor is simply a place where everyone can feel good, citizens and visitors of all ages. Info centre is on Žižka square, on May to September open daily from 8.30 am to 19 pm, Saturday and Sunday 10 to 16 hours. Out of season you can visit it on weekdays at 9 to 16 hours.
