General Information
This region covers the west direction from Klokočůvka on the left side of the Odra river valley. On the outcrops, we can examine right, oblique, overthrown, sloping and immersed folds as big as several decimemetr or meters. The area was declared a natural monument in 1998 and covers 1,24ha.
Subject of Protection
This natural monument is characteristic by it´s example of folded structure of Kulm rocks in the Low Jeseník Mountains.
Geology
This is a part of a Hradecko-Kyjovická formation of the Moravian-Silesian Kulm. It is formed mostly by greywackes, siltstone and clay slate.
The formation is affected by the folding deformities of several layers. On the outcrops, we can examine right, oblique, overthrown, sloping and immersed folds as big as several decimemetr or meters. The intesity of folded deformations is according to the width of individual layers. In the western part of the outcorp, there are more developed rhythms with greywackes, as wide as one meter. Their position is almost horizontal. The width and rhythms are falling down with eastern direction and the folding becomes more detailed. In the central part, we can call the folds even disharmonious. In the eastern part, the intensity of the folded deformation becomes calm again. A small cave was formed in one of the anticlinal curves.
