Hůrky Natural Monument

Basic information

The site is represented by a unique mixed fir-deciduous forest in the upper part of the northern slope. It has retained its native character. It was declared a natural monument in the area of 16.04 in 1995.

Subject of protection

The subject of protection is a forest of native character with high numbers of Polish Larch (Larix decidua subsp. polonica) and Scots Pine (Pinus sylvestris).

Living nature

The dominant species of the tree layer are native Scots Pine (Pinus sylvestris), Polish Larch (Larix decidua subsp. polonica), Small-leaved Lime (Tilia cordata) and Pedunculate Oak (Quercus robur). There are scattered pieces of Common Hornbeam (Carpinus betulus), Norway Spruce (Picea abies) and European Silver Fir (Abies alba). Sparse shrubby layer is created by natural rejuvenation of lime.
