Natural Monument Černý důl
The site comprises an abandoned slate mine with three-floor drift which is a significant winter site for bats now. It was declared a natural monument in the area of 3.58 in 1989.
Subject of protection
A mine with three-floor drift in an area of slate heap which is a significant winter site for bats represents the subject of protection in this area. The site has been monitored since 1976. As it is an important winter site of Barbastelle (Barbastella barbastellus), the natural monument was added onto the list of sites of Community importance.
Living nature
The drifts are a winter site for numerous Barbastelle species (Barbastella barbastellus) whose numbers can reach up to 1000 here. Mouse-eared bats (Myotis myotis), Northern Bat (Eptesicus nilssonii), Brown Long-eared bat (Plecotus auritus), Serotine Bat (Eptesicus serotinus), Daubenton's Bat (Myotis daubentonii), Whiskered bat (Myotis mystacinus) and Geoffroy's Bat (Myotis emarginatus) were also watched here.
