Rescue stations

There is a national network of wild animal rescue stations in the Czech Republic. Currently it consists of 24 entities which provide a thorough care to an injured or otherwise handicapped wild animal throughout the whole Czech Republic and also focuses on environmental education. Bartošovice rescue station in Moravia has been in operation since 1983 and is run by a non-governmental environmental organization – Czech Union for Nature Conservation in Nový Jičín. On average, 976 animals are recordered in the station per year. The following species are the most frequent guests of the station: Sparrow Hawk, Western European hedgehog, Common Swift, Common Buzzard, Tawny Owl, Long-eared owl, Mute Swam, White Stork, European Blackbird and Eurasian Sparrowhawk. These 10 species make up approximately two thirds of the total number of animal reception. On average, about 45% of the animals return back to the wild. In case you happen to find an injured animal please call the tel. number: 556 758 675 or write an email to: zachr.stanice.bartosovice@csopnj.cz. You can come and see the rescue station on non-working days (Saturdays, Sundays, and on public holidays) in the period of May 1 to October 31. A guided tour begins on the given days at the following times: 9.30, 10.30., 11.30., 13.30 and 14.30.
