The Maria Hilf place of pilgrimage
The pilgrimage church here in the deep woods of Zlaté hory is not only a traditional place of pilgrimage, but today it still reminds people from all over the world that they cannot be happy or live in peace unless they start to protect and respect every human life, from conception to natural death. Prayers are also said here for peace between nations, and a life in peace and mutual understanding. The church was build at the beginning of the 20th century in honour of the Virgin Mary. During communism, it was razed to the ground, but in 1995 thanks to the prayers, actions and gifts of believers at home and abroad, it was rebuilt and awoken back to life.
