Peat-bog Tříjezerní slať

A mountain peat-bog Tříjezerní slať covers an area of 5 ha. It is situated at the altitude of 1000m above the sea level below the slope of mountain Oblík. There are about 160 frosty days a year here; the annual precipitation is 1100mm. Three lakes can be found in the middle of the peat bog. The peat bog is accessible by a path (about 250m long) which was built already in 1978. It is equipped with 11 information panels about surface peat bogs and their origin. The peat bog is still living. It is about 4.5m deep. Its rich flora includes a carnivorous plant – sundew (Drosera rotundifolia), which feeds on insect attracted by its bright red colour and sticky drops on its leaves containing sweet particle.
