Peaks and views of the Beskydy

You are standing on the peak of Travný mountain at a height above sea-level of 1203 m. The Travný nature reserve is spread out over the steep western slope with remains of natural beech and fir woods, and where in higher places you can come across rare mountain pine. A huge number of rare birds and predators live here (the Black Stork, the Hazel Grouse, the White-backed Woodpecker, the Eurasian Pygmy Owl, the Eurasian lynx, wolves, bears and deer). Under the occupation, partisans met up on Travný mountain, and the locals from the village of Morávky built up contacts with them and supported them in sabotage and resistance activities. The fascists didn’t let them away and one night without warning attacked and killed the partisans.
