Peaks and views of the Beskydy

Velký Javorník

You are standing at the Pohorská jednota Radhošt cottage at the peak of Velký Javorník. It bore the name Benjamínek because it was the youngest of all the tourist cottages built by Pohorská jednota Radhošť. Pohorská jednota Radhošť was the first Czech hiking association and had to compete with the German association Beskidenverein.

On the southern slopes of Věřovické vrchy are 3 summer reservations. Velký Kámen reservation is particularly worthy of note. As the name in Czech suggests (Large Rock), in these old beech woods you can come across walls of rock and large stone blocks. The most important rock wall is Huštýn, which at 250 m long is among the largest in Beskydy.
