Rožnov – Valašské muzeum

You are standing by the entrance to the Wallachian open-air museum. It was set up in 1925 on the instigation of brothers Bohumír and Alois Jaroňkový. It is the second oldest open-air museum in Central Europe. The oldest is located in Přerov nad Labem. The Wallachian museum is composed of three separate parts. The oldest part of the museum is the Wooden town (Dřevěné městečko), which was opened to the public in 1925. In contrast, the youngest part is the Mill valley (Mlýnská dolina), dating back to 1982. The Wallachian village (Valašská dědina) is the third and largest section of the museum.
