Welcome to CHKO Beskydy

You are standing in the village of Trojanovice, founded in 1748 by Bishop of Olomouc and Cardinal, Julius Troyer (hence the name Trojanovice). Right at the top of Radhošť mountain stands a chapel consecrated to Saints Cyril and Methodius, which can be seen from great distances under good conditions. The chapel was built in 1898. The Matice Radhošťská organisation looks after the chapel. Frenštát sculptor Albín Polášek, who lives in the USA, donated statues of Saints Cyril and Methodius to Matice Radhošťská, and they now stand in front of the chapel.

You can also find other chapels around Trojanovice (the Our Lady of Lourdes chapel, the chapel in Lomná, the chapel in Bystrá and others). The centuries-old lime trees are also a remarkable natural monument. The oldest of them is estimated to be 320 years old (the Small-leaved Lime in the picture).
