Milíčov Forest
Milíčovský pond
This is the largest of the Milíčov system of ponds; it covers 3.24 hectares. The pond is home to waterfowl (common coot, little grebe, tufted duck, common moorhen, mute swan, grey heron, and the little ringed plover), and a significant haven for amphibians and reptiles, such as the edible frog, fire-bellied toad, and the grass snake. Kingfishers can often be spotted fishing. Jižní Město residents skate on the pond in winter. This text was produced using the brochure Botič-Milíčov, issued by Prague MC Environmental Protection Dept.
