Oblik is an elongated elliptical truncated cone whose peak reaches 509 meters above sea level. Its slopes incline is 30–45°and together with Srdov hill (482m) and Brnik (471m) it belongs to European significant location with total area of 335 hectares. These hills represent so call linear eruptions (formation at the same period, on the same tectonic line). The significance of this area is attributed to the occurrence of valuable xerophilous plants and many rare steppe invertebrate species. Typical plant species for this basaltic hill are Stipas (Stipa cappillata, dasyphylla, joannis). Noteworthy insect species that can be found here are locust (Stenobothrus eurasius) and butterfly (Callimorpha quadripunctaria). Approximately one third of the area is covered by shrubbery, especially the northern slope, but herbal communities cover the rest. Oblik, located about 6km north from Louny town, offers a broad view of other hummocks, e.g. Boren, Mila, Rana, Cerveny vrch, Sedlo, and from east to north Rip, Hazimburk, Lovos and Milesovka.
