Welcome to CHKO Beskydy
Valašská Senice
www.valasskasenice.hornolidecsko.cz
The village lies in the Senice river valley in the foothills of the Javorníky mountains. On the slopes of the Žárný hill you can still see the place known as ‘Kerchov’ – which is a graveyard for cholera victims dating to 1832–1833. There are also three stone crosses in the village: on Vrch from 1874, at the edge of the village from 1875 and above the school, which was erected by the villagers of Senice who left for America in 1914. The U Tkadleců cross dates to 1955 while the u Františů and u Kindlíků wooden crosses are undated. The local countryside is a mosaic of woods, meadows and pasture with a number of rare plants and animals. Valašská Senice is located in the foothills of the Javorníky mountains.
