Welcome to CHKO Beskydy

Karolinka

Karolinka lies in a picturesque valley along the Vsetínská Bečva river. Visitors can see the largest wooden stature of the Madonna in the Czech Republic (253 cm) in the Church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, which dates to 1997. The collection of old Wallachian wooden buildings in Raťkov is a major cultural monument. The local countryside is a mosaic of woods, meadows and pasture with a number of rare plants and animals. You can follow well-marked walking routes to get to the peaks of the Javorníky mountains and Vsetínské vrchy hills. Following the Stanovnice valley with the reservoir of the same name leads you below Válečková Kyčera (827 m above sea-level) to Stolečný vrch, from where Kohútka (912 m above sea-level) or Malý Javorník (1019 m above sea-level) are within reach.
