The area is situated in the northern part of the newly established National Geopark Podbeskydí. ME was announced on 5. 6. 2014. Geopark is a sign for geologically valuable territory. Its mission is to protect geological heritage, particularly through sustainable and friendly utilization. Geopark is not a category of special protected areas and protection it is not enforced system of prohibitions, but through active cooperation partners from the government, professional institutions, traders, citizens and non-profit organizations. There are activities developed to support the development of the area and promote attendance and education.
