Tin Museum Horní Blatná

The museum in Horní Blatná is located in the house from 18th century built in baroque style with half-timbered floor and the “1754” mark on the entrance portal. The building has vaulting interiors in the ground floor, original stucco ceiling in one of the rooms and compartment ceiling above the stairs.

Permanent exhibition is focused on the history of mining and manufacturing of the tin ore in the surroundings of Horní Blatná and Boží Dar. The collections of minerals, tin table-ware and models of the mining machines as well as the large model of the city are presented. Life and work of the local singer Hans Soph (1869–1954) is also reminded. In the museum is a small regional gallery and Museum Horní Blatná is the part of the nature trail “Horní Blatná – Vlčí jámy”.

The tour lasts about 15 min. German-speaking guide available.
