The First World War took place in the years 1914 to 1918. As a pretext for war conflict the assassination of the heir to the throne Franz Ferdinand d' Este was . The losses have affected Černošín . The residents of Černošín wanted to build up a symbol of the heroism of its citizens. Its construction began eight years after the end of the war, from the initiative of the bearer dortiger shoe factory Franz Richter and with the support of local population. The monument was built on the wooded grounds of the village about 2 km from the center Černošín away. It is easily accessible by a forest road not paved and leading on the northern slope of Vlčí Hora ( Wolfsberg ) . Access is also possible from the junction of the road from Černošín after Plana . On the plaque also the year of creation of the monument is mentioned in 1926 , when funds collected and the monument was built . It has been exposed to the fallen 35 oak trees in four rows in memory before the monument . A list of names of 44 dead and 15 missing victims there on a plaque in the church of St. George in Černošín . Even during the Second World War has celebrated for the victims at the memorial requiem . After 1945, the monument was forgotten and was also damaged. The city has, however Černošín get financial support from the Ministry of Defence of the Czech Republic in 2002 and has renovated the monument and the surrounding area .
