Trip Keprnicke mountains

Prince Liechtenstein’s forest

Welcome. You now have the honour of visiting a forest which, in 1905, Prince Johann Liechtenstein decided to make the first protected area in Moravia. Today this piece of virgin forest, the surrounding alpine meadows and peat bogs are called the Šerák-Keprník Nature Reserve. Come and take a look at this wild area, home to much flora and fauna which would not survive in places where people are active. The reserve can be accessed along well marked hiking trails. When visiting, try to be as quiet and unobtrusive as possible, and respect the right of the plants and animals to a tranquil, undisturbed environment.
