Saving the forest
Since way back, thick virgin forest has extended across the border between Moravia and Silesia. It has withstood the harsh alpine climate and has remained unspoilt by man. People first entered the forest relatively recently, but in a short period of three hundred years they have managed to fell and replant new trees in a number of places. The trees around you were planted by our ancestors to replace the original virgin forest. The seedlings, however, came from lowland areas, and so are less able to endure the harsh alpine conditions. The forest needs our help to rejuvenate.
