Sklářská stezka II – okolím Železnorudska
Stateček, Güttelplatz
The oldest glassworks in the region was established sometime before the year 1695. Its most probable location was in a former settlement called Sateček – Güttl nearby a crossing. Its likely founder is Johann Michael Pock of „Osserhütte“ whose name appears in a birth register in 1695 in association with a godfather. Another name mentioned there belongs to Kaspar Pockov, a „glassmaker of Osserhütte“. In 1744, the glass master of the local glassworks was Jakob Nitsch. The smelter ceased to exist sometime in the 18th century. There is still much unknown and unclear to us about this glassworks including its production programme. Written by PhDr. Jitka Lněničková
