Mikroregion Mikulovsko

Perná

The village of Perná is situated on the north-western slopes of Stolová hora (Table Hill) and is surrounded by two most important protected areas of Pavlovské Hills –Tabulová hora, Růžový vrch and Kočičí kámen National Nature Reserve and Děvín-Kotel-Soutěska National Nature Reserve.

The location has a long history of human settlement stretching back to the ancient times. The summit of the Tabulová hora (Table Hill) was the site of ancient settlement dating back to the Velatice culture (late Bronze Age). Several agricultural settlements were found also on the slopes around Tabulová hora. Archaeologists have discovered traces of the Únětice culture (early Bronze Age) as well as La Tène culture (Iron Age). The first written account of the village dates back to 1305.

If you decide to take a walk in Pavlovské Hills, the easiest way is to take the green trail leading to the ruins of Sirotčí hrádek (Orphan´s Castle) from where you can either continue on the green trail or try the red one. Two bike trails – Moravská Wine trail and Vinařská (Wine) educational trail connect with a dense network of bike trails leading to Mikulov, ATC Merkur caravan site, Lednice-Valtice Area, etc. The choice is yours.
