Memorable trees of Opava and Bruntál Districts
Lime tree at a parish office
Basic Information
There is a small-leaved lime (Tilia cordata) growing in the centre of Kravaře at the corner of a parish garden by the parish Church of St. Bartholomew. The height of the tree is 25 m, the trunk perimeter is 300 cm. The lime was declared memorable in the year 2001.
Church of St. Bartholomew
The Church of St. Bartholomew adjacent to the memorable lime tree makes a dominant feature of the town Kravaře and can be seen from a long distance. Its oldest part is a white Renaissance tower from the 16th century. There is a stone font from the 16th century and two precious bells dating back to the 17th century in the tower. The origin of the bells goes back to the times when the dominion was owned by Jakub Eichendorff. The Neo-gothic nave is the work of a respected local builder, Josef Seyfried (1865–1923), who was the author of the whole church complex including the parish office, a former convent of Sisters of God´s Love (today´s municipal house in Kravaře) and a fence wall with gateways.
