Historie obce Špičák

This place is called „the Prokop´s Meadow“ and it used to be an evidence of a high standard of then existing society. Famous architect Jan Prokop built a leisure facility for his hotel guests there. We would have found a tourist meadow, a tennis court, a wooden hut for an outdoor skittle-ground and an outdoor swimming pool there. The swimming pool, including changing rooms and a gallery with benches, was opened until the fifties of the 20th century. These facts are of a great information value, depicting people´s lives and business spirit of that time, as well as the unique location of the place and the genius of the builder and investor in one person. We leave to individual assessment of a smart tourist to judge the influence of socialism and subsequently early capitalism on these achievements.
