White Carpathians - Protected Areas
MECHNACKY
The small-scale protected area has been designated for the conservation of fragments of White Carpathian flower meadows.
Most of the once extensive meadows in this area were ploughed in in the 1970s. Mechnacky is the only remaining part. Due to the changes, the biodiversity of the site was significantly decreased. The nature conservation efforts aim at a return to a more favourable status.

Managed by: the state, through Bile Karpaty (White Carpathians) Protected Landscape Area Administration
Practical site management: state financed, conducted by local farmers (sub-contracted)
