White Carpathians - Protected Areas

This small-scale protected area comprises a patchwork of species-rich meadows, springs, and small woodlands in the Velicka Stream valley between the settlements of Suchovske mlyny and Javornik.

Including the buffer zone, this site with its 350ha is one of the largest small-scale reserves within the Bile Karpaty (White Carpathians) Protected Landscape Area.
The hay from the species-rich meadows used to be stored in traditional haylofts, some of which can still be seen along the road from the village of Javornik to the settlement of Suchovske mlyny.
