White Carpathians - Protected Areas

HUTE

This small-scale area helps protect a patchwork of meadows, pastures, woods, and springs on the slopes of the Vlci vrch (Wolf hill) in the Zitkovsky stream valley.

Thanks to regular conservation management, the site can still boast of many rare species of plans, including the orchids (Orchis militaris) the Military Orchid, Gymnadenia conopsea (The Fragrant Orchid), and Dactylorhiza majalis (Western Marsh-orchid). Apart from interesting plants, the site is a valuable living space for a great number of animal species. If you are really lucky, you will even meet the Aesculapean Snake (Zamenis longissimus) here.

the Fragrant Orchid (Gymnadenia conopsea)

the Marsh (Dactylorhiza sambucina)

the Military Orchid (Orchis militaris)

Type of protected area under CZ national legislation: Nature Reserve

Managed by: the state, through Bile Karpaty (White Carpathians) Protected Landscape Area Administration
