Things to note

There are three common types of maples in the Czech Republic: Field Maple, Norway Maple and Great Maple which can grow the highest of them all. Maple trees play a significant role in mythology, especially the Celtic one. In South England and Wales it is believed that children seated onto a maple branch will live soundly to a ripe old age. Maple wood is allegedly repugnant to batmen and night mares. Maple furniture is said to radiate pleasant warmth. Maple wood is characteristic for its resonance and that is why it is a popular material used for musical instruments such as violas, violins and guitars. Thanks to its bright colour it is valued in furniture making.
