High in the Mountains
Jelení studánka (Hirschbrunnen) is an important crossroads. From here, you
can follow the green marks through Břidličná, Pecný, Pec and Ztracené
skály („Lost Rocks“) to Skřítek („Gnome“), or the yellow marks around
Čertova stěna („Devil's Wall“) and Špičák to Vernířovice, or the red
marks along the main ridge, across Jelení hřbet („Deer's Ridge“), Velký
Máj, Kamzičník and Vysoká hole to Ovčárna. Under the Vysoká
hole's ridge, silvery water springs from the earth in the altitude of
1,311 meters, and in the Stříbrný stream flows down to the valley and
further to the Moravice river. Jelení studánka is located at the border of
three nature preserves – Praděd National Nature Preserve and Pod Jelení
studánkou and Břidličná nature preserves. Many rare flora species of grow
nearby, including Dianthus suberpus subsp. alpestris or Juniperus communis
subsp. alpina.
