Kleť Lookout Tower

Kleť is the highest summit of the Blanský Les Mountain Range, 1084 m ASL, with the stony lookout tower which was called after its builder Josef´s Tower. The tower was built in the first half of the 19th century and was initially named after the Emperor Franz Joseph of Austria. This is the oldest stony lookout tower in Bohemia. If the weather allows, it offers a unique view of the snow-covered summits of the Alps. The tower is 20 m tall and has a total of 110 stairs. Near the lookout tower, there is the Theresa’s chalet with a restaurant and the highest located sundial in Bohemia. The 175 m high television transmitter for the south of Bohemia, built in 1978, cannot be missed here, either.
