Lužnice River Meanders Nature Reserve
The nature reserve covers the 2.8 km long, meandering watercourse of the Lužnice River with the adjacent overflown alluvial plain, located 1 km north of the village of Majdalena. The subject of protection includes a natural meandering watercourse of the Lužnice River, an alluvial plain with the mosaic of periodically flooded depressions and the dozens of pools and oxbow lakes with a various level of land-filling. The meadows that were extensively used in the past are overgrown with the voluntary tree species.
