Trail No.6 – Gold-Miners´ Path

Green tourist mark, 7.5 km in length (approx. 2.5 hours), elevation of 200 m, surface: asphalt, forest paths

Nature trail to Amálino Valley will guide you through the core of the greatest gold-bearing territory of the Pre-Hussite Bohemia with numerous sights from the 14th to 20th century. The trail contains information panels.

Points of interest: traces of underground as well as surface mining – shafts and drifts; remains of medieval gold ore mill in the southeast of Kašperské Hory . Warning: The part of the trail to the west of “Mlýn na rybníce” (Mill on pond) leads along a narrow steep-sloped path. You can avoid this part of the trail sticking to the main road leading from the bridge on the right bank of Zelený potok (the Green brook) to 14th (see the map). Families with prams are advised to avoid the parts along the drifts to the west of Mlýn na rybníce. Leave the nature trail at the crossroads at “Mlýn na rybníce” and take the blue tourist route to get back to Kašperské Hory.

The trail is marked in one direction only. Follow the arrow signs on the map for better orientation.

Recommended: To see grazing bizon herds, at Mlýn na rybníce take the road southwards leading to Červená village.
