Kojetínské Hills

Kojetin crossroad (469 m)

In accordance to the settlement type, the village originated in the early 13th century. First written record dates from 1497, when Kojetín was part of the Starojický estate. Children went to school to Starý Jičín and a pastorate was there too. Autonomous school was established in 1905. Today, the children from Kojetín attend the schools in Nový Jičín. Kojetin belonged to the Starojický estate, it is a part of the city of Nový Jičín since 1974. The important Kojetín natives are: František Hrachovec born in 1867, a carver who taught at the School of Woodworking in Valašské Meziříčí, and a sculptor Josef Bezděk, born in 1906, who passed the higher arts education and exhibitions of his work were held in many places of our country.
