Kojetínské Hills

Hostašovice (345 m)

Establishment of the municipality of Hostašovice dates back around 1249. In 1978, the village became part of Nový Jičín. The municipality became independent in 1991. The main european watershed passes the territory of the village. Water from the Hrázkový creek, the Zrzávka creek and the Bílý potok flows into the Baltic Sea, the Srní creek and the Široká creek divert water into the Black Sea. Rarity is a barn No. 23 (located behind the football field of the TJ Sokol Hostašovice) – when it rains, water from one roof flows into two different seas. The locals crack jokes that when the dog pees at the center of the barn, it pollutes two seas. GPS: N 49° 32.03538', E 17° 59.72382' Pcr. 1 Fojtová barn on a historic photo.
