Village of Zlatá Koruna

Zlatá Koruna is a village on the Vltava river, located 8 km north of Český Krumlov. It is located in the Blanský Forest protected landscape area, at the foot of the Kleť mountain. The local ghyll of the Vltava River embracing the village on 3 sides is listed as the European area of conservation (EAC) within the NATURA 2000 programme. The village is highly attractive for tourists as there is a notable medieval monastery Zlatá Koruna (founded in 1263) which the village name was derived from. It is also an important watermen’s stop, offering a good quality camp.
