Krabonošská Alluvial Plain

The Krabonošská Alluvial Plain nature reserve is located near the village of Nová Ves nad Lužnicí in the district of Jindřichův Hradec. The reason for protection is the meandering natural watercourse of the Lužnice river with a network of false channels and 20 pools with a various level of land-filling. The slopes on the right bank beneath the former village of Krabonoš are formed by the unmowed meadow communities. The site is a habitat for various types of wetland and meadow communities which depend on the given environment. At present, the territory is left to its own natural development. There is a tourist themed trail alongside the territory, which follows the state border.
