Crossroads near Sedélko (Libín)

Libín is a 1,096 m high mountain, located approximately 4 km from the town of Prachatice. It is the highest summit of Šumavské podhůří, a geological subunit of the Prachatice Heights (Prachatická hornatina). It represents a distinctive view point of the Prachatice region, which can be seen from far away. It is a part of the long structural ridge leading from the north-west to the south-east with a steep north-east slope. The Libín nature reserve on the steep north-east slope of the Libín Mountain was declared in 1988. The reason for the protection is a natural mountain wood (fern type of beach woods) with even primeval forest residues in places and an occurrence of protected flora and fauna species. The Rope Park Libín nearby, established in the former diorite quarry, offers extraordinary adrenalin experiences. With its area of 1 hectare, the adrenaline park ranks among the biggest parks of its kind in the central Europe.

Area: 68,99 ha, Altitude: 704 – 1090 m ASL Declared in: 1988
