Novohaklovský Pond
The Novohaklovský Pond (also known under the name “Haklák”) is located westward of České Budějovice in the village of Haklovy Dvory. The fish pond is shallow (its maximum depth is 2 m) and its suitable position against south wind predetermines it to be abundantly used for water sports, such as windsurfing. Moreover, the pond is not intended for fish breeding and is drained every two years. Haklovy Dvory (originally a village, now it is incorporated in the build-up area in České Budějovice) is especially interesting thanks to its folk architecture of the so-called „marshland“ type and its decorated chapel from the 1st half of the 19th century.
