Dehtář Pond (weekend cottage activities)
The Dehtář Pond is the tenth biggest pond in the Czech Republic and the third largest fish pond in the district of České Budějovice. It is situated approximately 15 km to the west of České Budějovice. In the 15th/16th century, also the Rosenberg family participated in the construction of the Dehtář Pond. The water body covers an area of 246 hectares. The maximum depth is approximately 6 meters. The southern part of the pond is used for recreational purposes, while the peace must be kept in the west not to disturb the birds. The site is used as a swimming pool in summer with the possibility of making sports, such as windsurfing and recreational fishing.
