Dřemlínský Pond
It is located in the flat country of the Vodňanská Basin and incorporated in the Vodňany fishpond system. The area of the water body is 75 hectares. The pond was established in 1528 and is supplied with water from the Dřemlinská ditch. The fishponds formerly entailed high profits to the town’s treasury as the carps were greatly demanded in Bavaria and Austria. As a result, the local councillors decided to build-up a new pond in the area called V Dřemlinách. This pond also completed the whole Vodňany fishpond system.
