Zlivský Pond

The fish pond is located in the Českobudějovická Basin near the village of Zliv, from which its name is derived from. It covers an area of 30 hectares. The damp depth may reach up to 8 m. The pond is ranked among so-called through-flow ponds and is supplied with water from the Bezdrev stream. The pond itself serves as a source of water for the nearby production fishpond Bezdrev. The fish pond is mainly used for intensive fish breeding. The pond edges are bordered with wild reed, willows and alder or birch trees. The birds nesting here include, for instance, the Greylag Goose (Anser Anser), Mallard (Anas platyrhynchos) and the Great Crested Grebe (Podiceps cristatus).
