U strejčkova lomu Nature Monument

Grassy steppe in the slightly waved terrain which follows up on the Strejčkův quarry, located approximately 1 km north-west of the village of Krčmaň in Tršická pahorkatina (Tršická upland). Thermophilic steppe plant communities on the Devonian limestone substrate with an occurrence of a variety of endangered plant species and the invertebrates depending on them. There are a number of apparent karstic phenomena in the territory along with the estimated existence of underground cavities. The main subject of protection in this nature monument is one of the largest populations of a pasque flower Pulsatilla grandis in Moravia. The Strejčkův quarry was originally a limestone quarry. The site is maintained by regular mowing and clearing the voluntary tree species. In the past, a portion of the territory was changed as a result of lesser limestone quarries operation.
