Information Centers

Information centre Semily is in the Riegrovo náměstí square just at the new municipality, in the birthplace of JUDr. František Ladislav Rieger (1818–1903). When the famous politician and publicist was born, there had been a mill here allegedly since the end of 15th century, in the family's property since 1773. Its model is in the city museum. In the year 1862, František Schmitt bought the mill, and later he let it pull down and built a weaving mill instead, which was in the years 2004–2005 rebuilt to the municipality. In the last preserved building of the original mill's complex the city's information centre was opened in 1999. The information centre offers: complex tourist information about the regions Bohemian paradise, Krkonoše- and Jizerské hory Mts.; sale of the tourist ware; guide services; service packages; propagation materials; sale of the card „Benefit“ (35,– Kč); overview of cultural, sport and social events (in Semily and surroundings) and reservation and sale of tickets; copying and internet for public; information about Semily (location of companies, organizations and services); information about transport connections; receipt of contributions and advertising to Semily's newspaper; sale of stamps, bags for waste and DVDs.
